Tennis is enjoyed today by Cypriots and visitors to the island. There are municipal tennis courts as well as private facilities in most hotels and hotel apartment complexes, mainly hard or artificial grass.  Cyprus is the ideal place for tennis all the year round, even in the summer, thanks to cool westerly breezes and floodlighting.  Various competitions and tournaments are organised throughout the year.
